and approved procedure to collect and remove i

1. Set up the gas scavenging system.
a. Connect the AGSS to a gas scavenging
system.
b. Attach a patient circuit and plug the patient

d. Setthe
Bag/VentswitchωBag.
e. Adjust the APL valve to minimum.
2. Connect the pipeline supplies or slowly open the cylinder valves.
3. Turn all flow controls fully clockwise (minimum flow).
4. Set the ACGO selector switch to ABS.
5. Turn on the system.
6. Confirm that the O
2
sensor measures 21 % in room air and 100% in pure
O
2
,
If not , calibrate the O
2
sensor.
7. Make sure tha
t:
• For a dual-tube O
2
flowmeter ,
the O
2
flowtube shows
0.025ω0.075νmin.
• For a single-tube O
2
flowmeter ,
the O
2
flowtube shows 0.175 to 0.225
Lf
min.
• Th e otherflowtubes show no gas flow.
8. Set the flow controls to mid range of each flowtube and make sure that the
flowtube floats rotate and move smoothly.

Ifthe
system
does not include N
2
0 , skip steps 9 and 10.
9. Check the Li nk proportioningsystem concentration (increasing
N
2
0 刊ow).
Observe the following precautions:
a. Start with all valves at the minimum
se忧ing.
b. Adjust only the N
2
0 flow contro l.
c. Increase the N
2
0 flow as specified in the following table and make sure
the O
2
concentration is in range.
