Aespire 7100
Th e Seriallsolation Connector Board (SICB) provides three functions:
• It serves as an interface between the control board and switches that are
located in the machine itself (not in the breathing system).
• It processes serial communications signals from the control board to the
RS-232 Serial po此 on 由e breathing system side of the Aespire machine.
• Itprovides remote monitorOnjOffthrough an isolated relay.

Th e serial inte巾ce provides isolated RS232 serial communications. Th e lX D
(transmit) and RXD (receive) signals between the SICB and the control board
are at RS-232 levels.

Circuits on the board change the signals to digital5V levels; isolate them
through optocouplers; then , change them back to RS-232 levels before
sending them to the outside world.
• Th e extemal communications signals conform to standard
RS-232C signal standards.
• Th e extemal connector is a 15-pin female D connector.
• It is configured for Data Communications Equipment (DCE)
• Pin 6 - Receive
