The imageRUNNER 2318 with the optional feeder (DADF-P2), Inner 2 Way Tray-E2, Duplex
Unit-A1, Cassette Feeding Module-J1, and Cassette Feeding Module-K1 attached.
a Scanning Area
Originals placed in the feeder are scanned here.
b Platen Glass
Place originals here when scanning books,
heavyweight originals, thin originals,
transparencies, etc.
c Toner Cartridge
When toner runs out, pull out the toner cartridge,
and replace it with a new one. (See
"Consumables," on p. 6-37.)
d Counters
You can check the machine's copy and print page
counts.
e Front Cover
Open this cover to replace the toner cartridge or
drum unit.
f Drum Unit
When the drum unit is full of waste toner, replace
it with a new one.
g Paper Drawer's Left Cover
Open these covers when clearing a paper jam in
Paper Drawers 2, 3 and 4.
h Fixing Unit
If a paper jam occurs in the fixing unit, remove the
jammed paper carefully. (See "Fixing Unit," on
p. 7-5.)
i Duplex Unit-A1 (Optional)
The duplex unit enables you to use the 2-sided
mode for copying or printing. (See Chapter 2,
"Advanced Operations," in the Copying Guide
and Chapter 1, "Using the Machine as a Printer,"
in the UFR II Printer Guide.)
j Left Cover
Open this cover to clear a paper jam inside the
main unit.
