Timer Settings

The machine is equipped with two types of automatic functions that are controlled
by the internal timer system: Auto Sleep Time and Auto Clear Time.

Auto Sleep Time

If the machine remains idle for a certain period of time (after the last print job or key
3
operation is performed), the control panel power switch automatically switches OFF
to save power. The machine has entered the Sleep mode. You can specify the time
it takes for the machine to enter the Sleep mode (from 3 to 30 minutes). You can
also set Auto Sleep Time to 'Off'.
NOTE
To set the machine to manually enter the Sleep mode, or to restore the machine from the
Sleep mode, press the control panel power switch.
The machine will not enter the Sleep mode in the following cases:
- The machine is in operation.
- All paper drawers are empty.
- There is a paper jam.
- The toner cartridge is empty.
The machine will recover automatically from the Sleep mode when a print job is sent
from a computer or via the network.
The default settings are 'On' and '5 min'.
