Advanced Dialing

If you enabled RS-366 Dialing, the dialing prefixes and suffixes are
set for calls from the ViewStation FX and VS4000 V.35. Dialing
prefixes are numbers and characters that are sent to your DCE
equipment before sending the number dialed. Dialing suffixes define
the dialing speed of the DCE equipment. This provides the users the
capability to select the dialing speed when placing a call.
Note
Prefixes and suffixes are a function of your DCE. Please
consult the DCE users guide for additional information on
setting dialing profiles.
Figure 4-6. Advanced V.35 Screen
The Advanced V.35 screen provides a field entering prefixes or
suffixes associated with dialing through a DCE. For example, if using
an ASCEND VSX, #001 is the default prefix for a dialing speed of 56
kbps. Enter #001 in the field marked 56K. You have to enter this
information only once on the Advanced Dialing screen. When you
place a call, there is no need to enter the prefix again - simply select
the preferred dialing speed and ViewStation FX and VS4000 enters
the proper prefix.
Calling profiles for several manufacturers are included in the
ViewStation FX and VS4000. To select and modify these profiles,
select Calling Profile and select your equipment.
