Using Microsoft NetMeeting

© Polycom, Inc.
You can place video calls through Microsoft NetMeeting.
NetMeeting data is transmitted via the network and is displayed on
the PC at each site.
Complete the following steps to access NetMeeting:
1. Open Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher or Netscape 4.5 on your PC
and enter the IP address of the ViewStation FX or VS4000 in the
Address field. The ViewStation FX or VS4000 web interface
Welcome page appears on your PC.
2. Click on the Start NetMeeting icon and enter your name in the
User Name field (do not use admin as the user name). If you
have a slide-viewing password, enter it in the Password field. If
you do not remember it, you can find it on the System
Info>Admin Setup>Security screen of the ViewStation FX or
the VS4000.
3. Once you type your password in the dialog box, click on "OK" to
go to the How to Start a NetMeeting Call web page. Follow the
on-screen instructions.
Note
In Windows 95/98/ME, you can find your computer's IP
address by clicking the START button, click RUN, and type
"winipcfg" in the Open box. In Windows NT/2000, you can
get your IP address by typing ipconfig at the command
prompt.
Note
You can also access NetMeeting through your ViewStation
FX or VS4000. Go to System Info>Admin Setup>Data
Conference on the ViewStation FX or VS4000. Select
NetMeeting and enter the IP address of your PC. Press the
NEAR button on the remote to return to your
videoconference.
4. To open the NetMeeting application through your web browser,
pull down the Go>Internet Call menu. If you have NetMeeting
installed on your PC, double-click on the NetMeeting Application
icon. Make sure the far site has also launched NetMeeting.
5. Select Call from the NetMeeting menu on the PC connected to
the ViewStation FX or VS4000 that initiated the
videoconference.
