The possible reason for this failure is the short
circuit/open circuit of the J702 and onwards of
the IIT LVPS. Check for a short circuit by
referring to Chapter 4 Wiring Data. (WN4.3.25
IIT+24 VDC)
Replace the IIT/IPS PWB. (PL16.3)
When DC330 [006-005] (SCAN) or DC330 [006-006]
(RETURN) is On, is +24 VDC measured between the
CARRIAGE MOTOR P739-1 (+) and GND (-)?
Y N
In the same Diag, is +24 VDC measured between the
IIT/IPS PWB J725-1 (+) and GND (-)?
Y N
Replace the IIT/IPS PWB. (PL16.3)
Check the wire between the IIT/IPS PWB J725-1~6
and the CARRIAGE MOTOR P739-1~6 for an open
circuit or poor contact.
Check the wire between the IIT/IPS PWB J725 and the
CARRIAGE MOTOR P739-5 for an open circuit or poor
contact. If no problems are found, replace the
CARRIAGE MOTOR (PL16.5) and IIT/IPS PWB
(PL16.3) in sequence.
Check the following:
• The CARRIAGE MOTOR BELT for damage, loosening
and disengagement
• The CARRIAGE CAPSTAN SHAFT/PULLEY for wear,
distortion and chips
• Full Rate/Half Rate Carriage Position Adjustment
(ADJ2.1.1)
If no problems are found, replace the IIT/IPS PWB (PL16.3).
006-391 SCAN INITIALIZE MOTOR DRIVER
FAILURE
Description The CARRIAGE MOTOR error was detected
after the initialization was started.
BSD on : CH6.4 CH6.12C
Procedure
Turn Off the power. Remove the following covers:
• TOP COVER
• IIT REAR COVER
Measure conductivity of the following:
Between the CARRIAGE MOTOR P739-6 and the IIT/IPS
PWB J725-6
Between the CARRIAGE MOTOR P739-5 and the IIT/IPS
PWB J725-5
Between the CARRIAGE MOTOR P739-4 and the IIT/IPS
PWB J725-4
Between the CARRIAGE MOTOR P739-3 and the IIT/IPS
PWB J725-3
Between the CARRIAGE MOTOR P739-2 and the IIT/IPS
PWB J725-2
Between the CARRIAGE MOTOR P739-1 and the IIT/IPS
PWB J725-1
Is the resistance 1 Ohm or less for all wires?
Y N
Check wires with more than 1 Ohm for an open circuit or
poor contact.
Replace the following parts:
• CARRIAGE MOTOR (PL16.5)
• IIT/IPS PWB (PL16.3)
