Initializing: The application code is initializing the IP stack. For the majority of the
initialization time, the IP endpoint is waiting for a BOOTP or DHCP response. For each
enabled option (BOOTP, DHCP, or both), the endpoint screen displays a message
indicating the type of response it is attempting to receive.
If the IP endpoint receives a BOOTP or DHCP response, it uses the IP address,
subnet mask, and gateway address from the response.
If the IP endpoint times out, it uses its default IP address, subnet mask, and
gateway address from its internal database.
If at least one of these options is enabled and the endpoint is not able to receive an
IP address, the endpoint displays NO RESPONSE for five seconds.
If the endpoint tries BOOTP and fails, but then tries DHCP and succeeds, the
display does not pause for five seconds.
Finding IP Card (Module) Address: The application code is attempting to find a local
IP resource (Inter-Tel 5000 platform) by broadcasting on the LAN.
The first line contains the hexadecimal Ethernet address of the endpoint, while the
second and third lines display the endpoint's IP address. The remainder of the display
endpoint screen indicates that the endpoint is attempting to find an IP address.
Finding IP Card (Module): The application code is attempting to find a local IP
resource (Inter-Tel 5000 platform) by using the reply from the LAN broadcast. The first
line contains the hexadecimal Ethernet address of the endpoint, while the second and
third lines inform the user of the endpoint IP address. The rest of the LCD panel informs
the user that the endpoint is attempting to find the IP address and its port number.
Connecting to IP Card: The application code is attempting to connect to an IP resource
(Inter-Tel 5000 platform). The first line contains the hexadecimal Ethernet address of the
endpoint. The second line contains the IP endpoint current IP address. The fourth line
contains the IP address to which the IP endpoint is attempting to connect. The sixth line
indicates the number of unsuccessful connection attempts.
Connected to IP Card: The application code has made an IP connection to an IP
resource (Inter-Tel 5000 platform). The IP endpoint maintains this display until it receives
a confirmation from call processing. Some possible problems are that call processing is
not running, the module or circuit is not programmed in the call processing database
correctly, or the endpoint is connected to the wrong type of system. The first line
contains the hexadecimal Ethernet address of the endpoint. The second line contains
the IP endpoint current IP address. The fourth line contains the IP address to which the
IP endpoint is connected.
IP-Card-Not-Found Error Message: After an attempt to find the local IP resource (Inter-
Tel 5000 platform) through broadcast messages, the endpoint would normally attempt to
contact the Remote IP resource (Inter-Tel 5000 platform) IP address. However, the
endpoint does not have this field programmed; you can program this field through the
Self-Programming Mode or the Web/Telnet interfaces. The display will show this error
message for five seconds.
