NOTICE
To avoid system malfunctions observe the following rules when installing an Inter-Tel 5000
platform:

DHCP is enabled by default to allow the system to become operational upon boot up.
After the system has booted up, replace the DHCP address(es) with static IP addresses.
If using a DHCP server, the IP address may change, dropping any CT Gateway and/or
Voice Processing connections.
IP Addresses, subnet mask, and gateways, the CT Gateway must be on the same LAN
as the IP address and subnet mask or the system will not operate.
Inter-Tel CS-5400 systems have two IP addresses—one for the Processor Module (PM-
1) and one for the Processor Expansion Card (PEC-1). Both IP addresses MUST be on
the same subnet mask. This also applies to Inter-Tel CS-5200 systems that have been
upgraded with the PEC-1.
Use the LCD panel and display controls to navigate and change network or system
settings. You have 15 seconds to make your selection or the LCD returns to the default
idle display, Inter-Tel 5000. Use Figure 5-14 on
network information from the site administrator. Although DHCP is enabled by default,
Inter-Tel recommends using static IP addresses. See the notice above.
To quickly get to the IP address (from the idle panel display "Inter-Tel 5000"):
Press the center button three times to get to the IP address or subnet mask
settings.
To navigate: Press the up, down, or right arrows. Double up and down arrows on
the display indicate menu options exist either above, below, or both. No double
arrows indicate no option is available above or below the current option.
To select: Press the center button.
To edit:
an IP address or subnet mask:
a.)
Press the left arrow when the cursor is blinking on the left digit (of the address
you want to edit). This deletes the address.
b.)
Use the up and down arrow keys to change the digits.
c.)
Press the center button to confirm selection. Press the center button again to
save the selection.
a menu option:
a.)
Press the down arrow key to see any available options.
b.)
Press the center button to confirm selection. Press the center button again to
save the selection.
To go back: Press the left arrow button.
Reboot the system.
a. From the System menu, navigate to the Reboot option using the down arrow button.
b. Press the center button, and when prompted to reboot, use the Up arrow button to
change the selection to Yes. Wait while the system reboots.
Check that the front of the LCD reads: "Inter-Tel 5000," and then do one of the following:
Refer to the Inter-Tel 5000 Features and Programming Guide (part no: 580.8006)
for information on adding and configuring other aspects of the system and IP
endpoints. If changes were made in DB Programming, at the same time as using
the LCD panel, DB Programming will need to be restarted.
