You can configure RADIUS system accounting in 3WXM. When system
accounting is enabled, an Accounting-On message (Acct-Status-Type = 7)
is sent to the specified RADIUS server group when the WX switch starts,
and an Accounting-Off message (Acct-Status-Type = 8) to the RADIUS
server when the WX switch is administratively shut down.
Accounting-Off messages are sent only when the WX switch is
administratively shut down, not when a critical failure causes the WX
switch to reset. The WX switch does not wait for a RADIUS server to
acknowledge the Accounting-Off message; the switch makes one
attempt to send the Accounting-Off message, then shuts down.
To configure RADIUS system accounting:
1 Access the RADIUS accounting properties:
a Select the Configuration tool bar option.
b In the Organizer panel, click the plus sign next to the WX switch.
c Click the plus sign next to AAA.
d Select RADIUS.
e In the Task List panel, select System Accounting.
2 Select the server group(s) in the Available RADIUS Server Groups list and
click Add.
The Accounting-On and Accounting-Off messages generated by the WX
switch are sent to the selected server group(s).
3 Click OK.
The IEEE 802.1X standard provides an authentication framework that
supports a variety of methods for authenticating and authorizing network
access for wired or wireless users. You can configure 802.1X
authentication parameters for an individual WX or for a domain policy.
CAUTION: 802.1X parameter settings are global for all SSIDs configured
on the switch.
To view global 802.1X settings:
1 Select the Configuration tool bar option.
2 In the Organizer panel, click the plus sign next to the WX switch.
