Other Error Causes and Error Procedures
Status
The UNIT PWR indicator on the CompoNet
Communications Unit is flashing.
The MS and NS indicators on the Communica-
tions Unit flash while changing between red
and green.
The TS indicator on a SmartSlice I/O Unit
flashes while changing between red and
green.
The TS indicator on the CompoNet Communi-
cations Unit flashes green and the TS indica-
tors do not come ON on the SmartSlice I/O
Units on part of the SmartSlice I/O Terminal.
The TS indicator on the CompoNet Communi-
cations Unit flashes green and the TS indica-
tors on the SmartSlice I/O Units come ON in
green.
After the MS indicator on the Communications
Unit comes ON in green, the NS indicator
comes ON in red immediately, without flashing.
This section tells you about the errors that the indicators show and the proce-
dures for them.
The Unit power supply is not sufficient.
Calculate the power supply requirement of the SmartSlice I/O Terminal
and replace the power supply with one that has a sufficient capacity.

The slide connector on the left side of the Unit where the TS indicator
does not come ON is not connected properly. Connect this slide connec-
tor correctly.
After you correct the connection of the I/O Unit, turn ON the power again.

The End Unit is not connected correctly. After you correct the connection
of the End Unit, turn ON the power again.

Do a check of these items and then reset the CompoNet Communica-
tions Unit.
• Make sure that all node addresses are within the specified range and
that each node address is set only once. Make sure that the configura-
tion of Repeater Units is correct.
• Make sure that only one Slave uses the same I/O area words. If more
than one Slave uses the same words, correct the node addresses. Set
each node address on only one Slave.
• Refer to the error procedure below at "The NS indicator on the Compo-
Net Communications Unit comes ON in green but makes a change to
red after a short time."
• If the NS indicator comes ON in red on only one Slave, replace the
Slave.
