2. Turning ON the Unit Power Supply
Turn ON pin 1 (REGS) on the DIP switch on the CompoNet Communications
Unit, and then turn ON the Unit power supply.
The CompoNet Communications Unit will make a Registration Table showing
the SmartSlice I/O Units which connect to it.
If there was a Registration Table before, the CompoNet Communications Unit
will automatically compare the connected SmartSlice I/O Units with the Regis-
tration Table. The TS indicator on the CompoNet Communications Unit will
flash in red if there is one or more differences. Communications with all
SmartSlice I/O Units will not start.
If the TS indicator flashes in red, turn OFF pin 1, clear the Registration Table,
reset the Unit power supply, and turn pin 1 ON again. The CompoNet Com-
munications Unit will make a Registration Table for the configuration at the
time.
Refer to 6-2 Registration Table on page 54 for more information on the Regis-
tration Table.
3. Setting the Functions of the CompoNet Communications Unit
Start the CX-Integrator and set the function of the CompoNet Communica-
tions Unit.
If there are no settings to make, go to step 4.
Refer to 6-1 Overview of Smart Functions on page 54 for information on the
functions.
4. Manually Allocating Memory to SmartSlice I/O Units and Setting the
Functions
Use the CX-Integrator to manually allocate memory to SmartSlice I/O Units or
to set functions.
If there are no settings to make, go to 7-4 Starting Communications on
page 87.

W455) for more information on SmartSlice I/O Units.
