TROUBLESHOOTING
Any of the following fail to light: headlights, position lights, high beam indicator light, taillight, license
plate light, auxiliary lights or meter light.
TIP
• Before troubleshooting, remove the following part(s):
1. Side cowlings
2. Front cowling assembly
3. Fuel tank
4. T–bar
1. Check the fuses.
(Main, fuel injection, headlight, sig-
naling system, and ignition)
Refer to "CHECKING THE FUS-
ES" on page 8-250.

2. Check the battery.

CHARGING THE BATTERY" on
page 8-251.

3. Check the main switch.
Refer to "CHECKING THE
SWITCHES" on page 8-247.

4. Check the entire lighting system
wiring.
Refer to "CIRCUIT DIAGRAM
(FJR13AG)" on page 8-23 or refer
to "CIRCUIT DIAGRAM
(FJR13ESG)" on page 8-25.

Check the condition of each of the
lighting system circuits. Refer to
"Checking the lighting system".
Checking the lighting system
The headlights fails to come on.
1. Check the dimmer/pass switch.
Refer to "CHECKING THE
SWITCHES" on page 8-247.

Replace the fuse(s).
NG →
• Clean the battery terminals.
• Recharge or replace the battery.
NG →
Replace the main switch/immobilizer unit.
NG →
Properly connect or replace the wire har-
ness.
NG →
• The dimmer/pass switch is faulty.
• Replace the left handlebar switch.
