TIP
The damping force setting can be set to 7 levels
(+3, +2, +1, 0, -1, -2 and -3). "+3" is the hardest
level and "-3" is the softest level.

CHECKING THE REAR SUSPENSION
1. Stand the vehicle on a level surface.

Securely support the vehicle so that there is
no danger of it falling over.
2. Check:
• Rear shock absorber assembly
Gas leaks/oil leaks → Replace the rear shock
absorber assembly.
Refer to "REAR SHOCK ABSORBER AS-
SEMBLY (FJR13AG)" on page 4-118 and
"REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY
(FJR13ESG)" on page 4-123.
3. Check:
• Rear shock absorber assembly operation
• Rear suspension link pivots
Push down seat on the vehicle several times
and check if the rear shock absorber assem-
bly rebounds smoothly.
Rough movement → Repair.
Refer to "REAR SHOCK ABSORBER AS-
SEMBLY (FJR13AG)" on page 4-118 and
"REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY
(FJR13ESG)" on page 4-123.
