Installing the Md4/PCX Board and Driver in a Digital UNIX Workstation
Configuring the Display Monitor
Because the Md4/PCX board displays high resolutions and
its monitors have unique requirements, you must configure
your driver to specify which monitor is attached to your
Md4/PCX board. Typically, DOME boards are used with
large, high-resolution, monochrome monitors, but the
DOME Md4/PCX driver can also support a color monitor.
When you first install the kit on your system, the
program automatically configures your DOME display
driver to support the monitors you specify. If you change
monitors after you install the kit, you can use a special
script called
configuration easily without reloading the kit.

To set the monitor configuration

The
set_dome_monitor
/usr/bin
script configures the board/monitor combination. You
must have superuser privileges to run
because it modifies system files.
Follow these steps to reconfigure your driver:
1. Run
set_dome_monitor
See "To use set_dome_monitor" on page 112 for
step-by-step instructions on how to use this program.
2. Shut down your system.
3. Turn on power to the workstation again.
4. Boot the system by typing:
>>>boot
set_dome_monitor
script is installed in the
directory during the kit installation. This
set_dome_monitor
to change the driver
set_dome_monitor
by typing:
