5.4.5 Miscellaneous Alerts
Message
XTALK ERROR – A flight
display cross talk error has
occurred.
SIMULATOR – Sim mode is
active. Do not use for
navigation.

Cause
A communication error
has occurred between the
MFD and PFD.
The system is in simulator
mode.
Solutions
Ensure a database error has not
occurred (identified in the ALERTS
window on the PFD).
If a database error has
occurred, correct error before
proceeding.
Check display Ethernet interconnect
wiring and pins for faults.
Replace PFD1 with a known good
unit, to verify location of problem:
If problem persists, reinstall
original PFD1.
If problem persists replace MFD.
Check wiring (pin 54 in all GDU
connectors should be empty).
