Gear Housing
a. Splines are twisted or worn
b. Oil seal surface is grooved
c. Shaft has a noticeable wobble or is bent more than 0.15 mm (0.006 in.).

a - Check shaft for wobble
b - Check for twisted splines
c - Check for seal surface grooves
d - Check for needle bearing surface pits or wear

Water Pump, Driveshaft and Shift Shaft Disassembly

1. Remove four screws from the water pump cover.
2. Remove the water pump cover from the driveshaft.
