Cylinder Block Disassembly

1. Remove the flywheel. Refer to Section 2A ‑ Flywheel Removal.
2. Remove the cylinder head. Refer to Section 4B ‑ Cylinder Head Removal.
3. Remove the timing belt tensioner.
4. Install the crankshaft flywheel key.
5. Install the crankshaft holding tool.
6. Bend the tab on the washer and use a wrench to hold the camshaft drive gear nut while turning the crankshaft with the
crankshaft holding tool.

7. Remove the drive gear from the crankshaft.
8. Remove the thermostat cover and the thermostat.
9. Remove the anode cover bolts. Remove the anode cover.

Crankcase Disassembly

1. Remove the starter lock cable bracket.
