Exchange of a E10 fieldbus control unit against a E20 fieldbus system

A R1000 E10 fieldbus control unit can be completely replaced by a R1000 E20 fieldbus system.
The following must thereby be considered.
1. Enclosure
The enclosure with the connections and mounting fixtures is fully compatible.
2. Power consumption
The power consumption of the E20 fieldbus can go up to 100W.
The E10 has only the power consumption of 10W.
Therefore, the cross-section of the power supply cable should be selected accordingly.
3. Fieldbus interface
The process channel has been extended from 4 bytes to 16 bytes (i.e. altogether 24 bytes for
the E20 fieldbus as compared to 12 bytes the E10 fieldbus control unit).
The control via the fieldbus interface is compatible, however extended accordingly.
The equipment supplies now also the individual results of measurement with the additional
bytes and offers additional operational features.
4. External I/O control
The external I/O control of the E20 fieldbus control unit corresponds to that of the E10 fieldbus
system.
5. Measurement functions
The E20 fieldbus has a shorter measuring time.
With that new so-called sequencer mode several sensors can be more efficiently interrogated.
6. Sensors
All presently available sensors can be connected to the E20 fieldbus equipment.
However, using the new sensor P4AGS (not for E10) is recommended instead of the P42GS.
7. Sensor cable
The sensor cables are fully compatible.
8. Modes of operation
The dimensions %mm and %inch are not available for E20-4P control unit
(if used with separated sensors).
9. Sensor selection
When "sensor selection A/B" is set, the selection will be taken over only when a new signal
"measurement start" is applied. In the demo mode the selection will not be performed.
