11.1

Fieldbus configuration files

The configuration files for the respective fieldbus systems can be found on the enclosed CD.
11.2

Exchange of equipment

11.2.1 Exchange of a UDK10 fieldbus control unit with a UDK20 field bus system
A R1000 UDK10 fieldbus control unit can be completely replaced by a R1000 UDK20 field bus unit.
The following must thereby be considered.
1. Enclosure
The enclosure with connections and mounting fixtures is fully compatible.
2. Power consumption
The UDK20 field bus has a power consumption of max. 60W, compared with 17W of the UDK10.
Thus the cross-section of the cable leads of the power supply should be selected accordingly.
3. Fieldbus interface
The process channel has been extended from 4 bytes to 16 bytes (i.e. altogether 24 bytes for the
UDK20 fieldbus unit, compared with 12 bytes of the UDK10 fieldbus unit). The control via the
fieldbus interface is compatible, however extended accordingly. The equipment now supplies also
the individual measuring results with the additional bytes and offers additional operational features.
4. External I/O control
The external I/O control of the UDK20 fieldbus control unit corresponds to that of the UDK10
fieldbus system.
5. Measurement functions
The UDK20 fieldbus has a shorter measuring time. With the new so-called sequencer mode two
sensors can be interrogated more efficiently.
6. Sensors
The previously used sensors PW42GS can no longer be used with the UDK 20 field bus units.
For operating a UDK20 field bus unit the sensor PW42AGS is used.
7. Sensor cable
The sensor cables are fully compatible.
