CHECK:
Measure voltage between terminals THR and E1 of the ECM
connector at each temperature.
OK:
THR (+)
HINT:
As the temperature increases, the voltage decreases.

PREPARATION:
Remove the A/C evaporator temp. sensor
(See page AC–30).
CHECK:
Ohmmeter
Check resistance between terminals 1 and 2 of the A/C evapo-
rator temp. sensor connector at each temperature.
OK:
AC0175
HINT:
As the temperature increases, the voltage decreases.
NG
– ENGINE (5S–FE)
Remove the glove compartment (See page SF–64).
Turn the ignition switch ON.
Voltage
at 0°C (32 F): 2.2 – 2.6 V
at 15°C (59°F): 1.4 – 1.8 V
Check and replace ECM (See page IN–31).
Resistance
at 0°C (32°F): 4.6 – 5.1 Ω
at 15°C (59°F): 2.1 – 2.6 Ω
Replace A/C evaporator temp. sensor.
