6. Remove the assembly of the engine oil pan from
the engine.
7. Remove the isolating screws (8) and (9) from the
engine oil pan (7). Remove the joint (4) from the
engine oil pan (7). Discard the joint.

8. If necessary, follow Steps 8.a through 8.c in order
to remove the isolating frame from the cylinder
block.
a. Support the isolating frame (12). Use Tooling
(A) to remove the torx screws (11) and (13).
b. Remove the isolating frame (12) from the
cylinder block.
c. Remove the joint (10). Discard the joint.

Note: In order to remove a cast iron oil pan, the
engine must be removed from the application. Refer
to OEM information for the correct procedure. Ensure
that the engine lubricating oil is drained. Refer to
Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil and
Filter - Change" for the correct procedure.
NOTICE
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.
Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened
component life.
NOTICE
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained
during performance of inspection, maintenance, test-
ing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to
collect the fluid with suitable containers before open-
ing any compartment or disassembling any compo-
nent containing fluids.
Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and
mandates.
1. The engine should be mounted in a suitable stand
and placed in the inverted position.
2. Disconnect the breather hose (not shown) from
the clip that secures the hose to the engine oil
pan. Position the breather hose away from the
engine oil pan.

3. If necessary, remove the assembly of dipstick
tube. Loosen the nut (1) and remove the tube
assembly (2). Remove the seal (3) from the tube
assembly. Discard the seal.
Note: Identify the position and orientation of the tube
assembly.
