You need IP connectivity to configure and manage the NBX 100 using the
NetSet administration program.
You do not need to install any special software to run NetSet, and you do
not need a connection to the Internet, but you must have the following
components:
An IP-enabled computer
I
Most computer operating systems, such as Windows 95, Windows
98, and Windows NT, include IP connectivity software. If you are
already able to view web sites using a browser or receive e-mail, the
computer is IP-enabled. If you need to configure the computer's IP
settings, see the computer operating system documentation.
A web browser
I
The browser (Netscape Navigator 4 or higher or Microsoft Internet
Explorer 4 or higher) allows you to access the configuration interface
for the NBX 100 . To enhance the appearance of NetSet online Help,
be sure the browser is set to allow JavaScript and style sheets (CSS).
A network interface card
I
the computer must be connected to the local area network.
The NBX 100 is shipped with default IP settings. The default IP address is
part of a block of addresses reserved by the Internet Engineering Task
Force (IETF) for use on private IP networks, that is, networks which do not
connect to the Internet.
With most installations, you need to change the IP settings of the NBX
100. You should configure the NBX 100 IP settings before you connect
