After completing the hardware installation test, you are ready to begin
configuring the system. Using Auto Discovery simplifies initial system
configuration by adding information about new devices to the
configuration database. Devices include telephones, Line Card ports,
Digital Line cards, DSS/BLF adjuncts, as well as "virtual devices" that exist
on the network such as the pcXset PC Telephone Client and the
ConneXtions H.323 Gateway.
At this point in the installation process, Auto Discovery adds the Line Card
ports and DIgital Line cards you've installed.
After a device has been discovered, the Auto Discovery process does not
find that device again. If you remove the device from the system, you
must use NetSet to manually remove the device and thereby remove the
database record.
