Suggested Action
If the system has already allocated all
available extensions, the Auto Discovery
process will not complete. Use NetSet to
set a new starting number, or manually
configure the telephone.
Enable LLC bridging on the gateway
(router) to the subnet.
By default the routers might be configured
to pass certain types of packets, such as IP
packets, and discard anything else. By
enabling LLC bridging, you let the router
pass the NBX 100 Ethernet frames.
Network congestion probably means that
you need to upgrade the network.
However, there are a few short-term
actions you can take to help limit the
problem:
Enable Silence Suppression system-wide
and disable Music-on-Hold audio. See
"Configuring System-Level Settings" on
page 173 for details.
See "Servicing the Network Call Processor
Battery" in the NBX 100 Administrator's
Guide for more information.
A common networking practice is to
employ a proxy server to shield the
network from intrusion by unauthorized
users. However, communications with
NetSet do not need to pass through the
proxy server. To speed access to NetSet,
configure the browser to access the NBX
100 without going through the proxy
server.
