Recording Digital Line
Card MACs
Each Digital Line card has a white label that contains one master MAC
address that identifies the board and span. There are also 12 additional
MAC addresses, based on the master MAC address, which identify the 24
channels. Each MAC address has two channels associated with it. Each of
the 24 channels is numbered, 1through 24. Like the 4-Port Line card, the
MAC addresses of the channels are increased by one, based on the MAC
address of the board.
For example:
If the board label lists the address:
00:e0:bb:01:20:69:
The address of channel 1 would be:
00:e0:bb:01:20:69 + 1 = 00:e0:bb:01:20:6a
The address of channel 6 would be:
00:e0:bb:01:20:69 + 6 = 00:e0:bb:01:20:6f
The address of channel 12 would be:
00:e0:bb:01:20:69 + 12 = 00:e0:bb:01:20:75
The number of MAC addresses and channels per digital line card varies
depending on the type of card, as shown in Table 20.
