Configuring STP Port Parameters
the connection type applies across all VLANs associated with the port. However, the port connection type
is associated with the flat mode instance 0, even though the physical port is associated with other VLANs.
To change the mode for a port, enter bridge followed by an existing VLAN ID (or 0 if using a flat STP
instance) then the port's slot/port designation followed by connection and then enter either noptp, ptp,
autoptp, or edgeport. For example, the following commands define an edge port connection type for port
1/8 associated with VLAN 10 and port 2/1 associated with the flat STP instance:
-> bridge 10 8/1 connection edgeport
-> bridge 0 2/1 connection edgeport
Note that the bridge slot/port connection command only configures one port at a time.

Connection Type on Link Aggregate Ports

Physical ports that belong to a link aggregate do not participate in the Spanning Tree Algorithm. Instead,
the algorithm is applied to the aggregate logical link (virtual port) that represents a collection of physical
ports. To change the STP port connection type for a link aggregate, use the same bridge command, but
specify a link aggregate control number instead of a slot and port. For example, the following command
defines the link aggregate 29 associated with VLAN 755 as an edge port:
-> bridge 755 29 connection edgeport
