Problem
Terminal doesn't recognize my
handwriting.
Tapping the screen buttons or
icons does not activate the
corresponding feature.
Cause
Character strokes written
incorrectly with the stylus.
Character strokes written on the
wrong part of the LCD screen.
Lower- case and upper-case
letters, and numbers written on
the wrong parts of the LCD
screen.
LCD screen not aligned
correctly.
The system is hung.
The touch screen is disabled for
five seconds when the terminal
is turned on.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting
Solution
If using the Block Recognizer
input method, characters must
be written a certain way. See
Appendix A, Block Recognizer
Characters
for information
about how to write character
strokes.
If using the Block Recognizer or
Letter Recognizer input
method, make the character
strokes in the lower character
entry area on the screen — not
on the display part of the
screen.
Ensure you are writing letters
and numbers in the appropriate
section of the writing area.
Align the screen. Tap Start -
Settings - System tab - Screen -
Align Screen, or hold down the
Function key and press the
Scan/Trigger key.
