Chapter 3 PREPARATIONS FOR CUTTING/PLOTTING
3.1 Basic Operational Flow
For smooth operaton, please follow the steps outlned below and make the approprate settngs explaned n
the relevant sectons.
(1) Before turnng on the power supply, make sure that the plotter s connected to your computer and to any other
perpheral devces as requred.

(2) Mount the cutter pen, and adjust the heght of the pen carrage.

The cutter pen tip is very sharp. Before handling a cutter pen, be sure to read the sections 'To Ensure Safe and
Correct Use' and 'Precautions on the Handling of Cutter Pens' at the front of this manual.
(3) Turn on the power supply to the plotter and the perpheral devces.
g 3.6 Turning on the Power and Initialization
The moment you turn on the power, the plotter's Y bar and pen carriage will start to move. Do not put your hands
or place any objects on the writing panel. Such actions are dangerous.
(4) Load the medum.
g 3.7 Loadng the Medum
(5) Make the followng settngs at your computer and the plotter.

g 3.9 Runnng a Cuttng Test
g 5.5 Settng the Transmsson Condtons
g 5.6 Settng the Format for Recevng Data
(6) Send the cuttng data from your computer to the plotter to start the cuttng operaton.
The Y bar and pen carriage will start to move as soon as data is sent from the computer, or shortly thereafter. Do
not put your hands or place any objects on the writing panel. Such actions are dangerous.
