18.0: VM ²
VM ² WIRELESS SYSTEM MONITORING
VM² is a feature that allows the status information for HiQnet-enabled AKG wireless microphone systems and Shure
ULXD / QXLD wireless microphone systems to be displayed directly within the channel strip that they are connected
to. In addition Shure receiver gain and mute can be controlled directly from the Vi channel strip. This feature takes
advantage of Harman's HiQnet network control protocol (AKG) or Shure's ACN protocol and brings many benefits
including streamlining of the workflow and increase in speed of problem diagnosis.
Compatible wireless systems can be connected to the console using the HiQnet socket on the back of the control
surface via a standard 1GB Ethernet switch. Compatible AKG systems use the AKG Hub4000Q merge device. With
Shure systems, a suitable Ethernet switch is used to connect the HiQnet port of the console to the Shure's Dante
audio & control Ethernet port.
The HiQnet / Ethernet network setup is located in the main menu ([MENU]) under the (System) tab.
Available VM² status' and controls are shown in the input channel's input block in the touch screen, and in the VST
section when that input block is selected. User definable receiver channel names appear in the channel label display.
