Check the electrolyte level and top up, if
necessary to the 'MAX' mark with distilled
water every week.
CAUTION :
For topping, use only distilled water.
Keep the battery surface clean and dry.
Never over charge the battery - it damages
the battery & plates may buckle.
Remove the battery from the motorcycle
and store it separately when the motorcycle
is not in operation for more than one month.
Protect battery from direct sunlight, heat,
rain and dust.
Keep exhaust seal cap in place to avoid
deterioration of dry charge properties
New dry charged batteries need initial
charging duration of 8 to 10 hours - Upto
3 months from the date of manufacturing.
Beyond 3 months the batteries may need
extended duration of initial charging subject
to storage conditions.
Charged batteries, if kept idle should be
boost charged once in 3 to 4 weeks
It is always a good practice to boost charge
the batteries before fitment to ensure full
state of charge.
Check the terminals and cables for
corrosion. Apply petroleum jelly on
terminals to prevent corrosion.
Check specific gravity of electrolyte. The
float graduation in level with the electrolyte
in it, is the specific gravity of the electrolyte.
