DIAGNOSTIC DISPLAYED
ECEM Communications
Failure
Problem: The RTM has lost
communications with the
ECEM.
Check: Check field/unit wiring
between RTM and ECEM
Module.
Emergency Stop
Problem: The Emergency Stop
input is open.
Energy Recovery Wheel
Proof Failure
Problem:Temperature input
comparison indicates the
energy recovery wheel may
not be turning.
Check for wheel operation
(relay/contactor closure,
motor, wheel turning)
Entering Evaporator
Temperature Sensor
Failure (Ckt 1 and Ckt 2)
Problem: The Entering Evap
Temp Sensor is out of range.
Check wiring from MCM to
sensor. If wiring is correct
check voltage on sensor input.
RT-SVP04F-EN
REASON FOR DIAGNOSTIC
The RTM has lost
communications with the
ECEM.
An open circuit has occurred
on the Emergency Stop input
caused either by a High Duct
Temp T-stat trip, or the
opening of field-provided
contacts, switch, etc....
Comparison of the Leaving
Recovery Exhaust Temp and
Return Air Temp doesn't
indicate adequate differential
between entering and leaving
exhaust air across the energy
recovery wheel.
Entering Evaporator
Temperature Sensor Failure
Temperature <-55 F or
Temperature > 209 F
System Testing & Troubleshooting
UCM'S REACTION
If the unit has the
Comparative Enthalpy option,
the Economizer Enable r.e.
Enthalpy function will revert to
Level 2 enthalpy comparison.
On units with Statitrac;
a. Space pressure control is
deactivated,
b. the Exhaust Fan Control
function receives an "Exhaust
Fan Fail" command,
c. the Exhaust Damper control
function receives a "Close
Damper" request, and
d. The Outside Air Damper
is limited to minimum
position.
"OFF or "Close" requests are
issued as appropriate to the
following functions;
a. Compressor staging/Chilled
Water Cooling control
b. Heat operation
c. Supply fan control and proof
of operation
d. Exhaust fan control and
proof of operation.
e. Exhaust actuator control
f. Outside Air Damper Control
g. On VAV units, IGV/VFD
control
h. Return fan control and proof
of operation.
Energy Wheel output is de-
energized and associated
dampers closed while in heat
mode. In cooling mode the
dampers will still open during
economizing operation.
For units with Low Charge
Protection, the Low Charge
Protection function (either
Ckt1 or Ckt2) is disabled. For
units with Low Charge
Protection, a "Lockout (Ckt1 or
Ckt2)" request is issued to the
compressor Staging Control
Function.
RESET REQUIRED
(PAR) An automatic reset
occurs after communication
has been restored.
(PMR) A manual reset is
required after the Emergency
Stop input recloses. The
Diagnostic can be reset by the
Human Interface or Tracer or
by cycling power to the RTM.
(PMR) A manual reset is
required anytime after the
Diagnostic is set. The
Diagnostic can be reset by the
Human Interface or Tracer, or
by cycling power to the RTM.
(PAR) An automatic reset
occurs after the Entering
Evaporator Temperature
Sensor input returns to within
range continuously for 10
seconds.
