1.4.1

Polarization Filter

Order no: MX-SM-OPT-POL
The polarization filter can suppress annoying reflec-
tions and thus enhances recognizability of persons
behind windshields, for example. This filter replaces
the protective glass insert into the corresponding sensor
module (note that this filter cannot be used in L12 sen-
sor modules). Use the blue lens wrench (M.6) to rotate
the polarization filter and to adjust its orientation (see
Section 3.3.3, «Inserting a Filter» ). Due to its nature, this
filter reduces the amount of light that enters the lens
by approximately 50 %. The red sealing ring distinguishes this filter from other filters and
the protective lens insert.
