    Preparing the Installation 2.1.1 Ceiling and Wall Mounting Like all MOBOTIX cameras, the D26 is extremely flexible in terms of how and where it can be installed (see Section 2.1.2, «Mounting Options»). However, installations on a wall or ceiling are the most common mounting positions. In indoor spaces, the D26 is usually mounted from the ceiling.

This interface box not only provides overvoltage protection of up to 4 kV for MOBOTIX IP cameras , it also provides simple and weatherproof connection of the cameras to a network patch cable ( -RJ45 variant) or a network installation cable ( -LSA variant).

    When installing the wiring inside or outside of buildings, make sure you always adhere to the relevant regulations on wiring, fire prevention and protection against lightning. MOBOTIX cameras are protected against the effects of small electrical surges by a range of measures. These measures, however, cannot prevent the camera from being damaged when stronger electrical surges occur.

    However, to ensure a flush finish with the surface, you should first install a flush-mounted wall outlet (space for the connection cable). If you choose to mount the camera directly to a wall without the MOBOTIX-recommended wall mount, you should position the camera in the center of the room to guarantee maximum coverage.

Always ensure that the rubber plug of the network cable reliably pro- tects the outer shell from moisture entering the camera. All openings of the camera housing need to be properly sealed.
