PISTON AND PISTON RING

PISTON DIAMETER
• Using a micrometer, measure the piston outside diameter at
20 mm (0.79 in) A from the piston skirt end.
If the measurement is less than the limit, replace the piston.
& Piston diameter
Service Limit: 80.88 mm (3.184 in)
at 20 mm (0.79 in) from the skirt end
" 09900-20204: Micrometer (75 – 100 mm)
PISTON-TO CYLINDER CLEARANCE
As a result of the previous measurement, if the piston-to-cylinder
clearance exceeds the service limit, rebore the cylinder and use
an oversize piston or replace both the cylinder and piston.
& Piston-to-cylinder clearance
Standard: 0.055 – 0.065 mm (0.0022 – 0.0026 in)
PISTON-RING-TO-GROOVE CLEARANCE
Measure the side clearances of the 1st and 2nd piston rings
using the thickness gauge.
If any of the clearances exceed the limit, replace both the piston
and piston rings.
& Piston-ring-to-groove clearance
Service Limit (1st) : 0.18 mm (0.0071 in)
(2nd): 0.15 mm (0.0059 in)
