14. Mark the RIO cables, SPCN cable, and the JTAG cable and then disconnect them
from the system rack.
15. Remove the upper and lower EMC shields from the rear cage assembly.
16. Mark the SPCN card, memory cards, processor cards, clock/processor regulator
card, I/O hub card, and filler cards and their locations in the top and bottom of the
rear cage so that you can return the cards to their correct location during
reassembly.
17. Remove the SPCN card, memory cards, processor cards, clock/processor
regulator card, I/O hub card, and filler cards from the top and bottom of the rear
cage.
18. Disconnect the operator panel cable and remove it.
19. From the rear of the system, remove the 8 screws that mount the rear cage to the
front cage and system backplane assembly.
20. From the front of the system rack, slide the front cage and system backplane
assembly forward far enough to allow access to the power connections on the
lower rear side of the assembly.
21. Unplug the cables attached to the lower-left and right corners of the front cage and
system backplane assembly (this is done from the rear of the system rack).
Refer to "Front Electronics Cage and System Backplane Assembly" on page 552 for
front cage/system backplane assembly and perform the following steps from the front of
the system rack.
22. Attention:
than it is on the front. The front cage/system backplane assembly can tip to the
rear if it is not properly handled.
Use two people to remove the front cage and system backplane assembly from
the front of the system.
CAUTION:
This unit weighs between 18 kg (39.7 pounds) and 32 kg (70.5 pounds). Two
persons are required to safely move it. Using less that two persons to move it
can result in injury.
23. Place the front cage/system backplane assembly on the floor with the cage facing
downward.
Replacement
Replace in reverse order.
Note: When reconnecting the large power cables to the new system backplane

The front cage and system backplane assembly is heavier on the rear
assembly, be sure to push the cables completely onto the pins.
