While adding a data recording serial device (as explained in

In the Event Rule box, enter:
A code obtained from the manufacturer of the device. For example, a no sale
message from a device is coded as one or more numbers, or text (refer to the
documentation for the device).

A regular expression of your choice (see

Click Add.

The default Buffer Size value of 250 bytes should be adequate for most
organizations; however, consider that you may need to use a bigger buffer if any rules
use wildcards (see

Buffer Size field so that there are twice as many bytes as there are keystrokes in the
longest rule entered in

You have the option of adding more events, as many as 512 different events or
regular expressions can be processed for each data recording device.
