8. Lift the mid-plane board over the retention pins (see letter "B" in the figure below)
and out of the server system.

Installing the Mid-plane Board

1. Observe the safety and ESD precautions at the beginning of this book. See
Information".
2. Power down the server and unplug all peripheral devices and the AC power
cable(s).
3. Remove the server system cover. For instructions, see
Cover".
4. Position the mid-plane board over the retention pins as shown in the figure below
(see letter "A").
5. Slide the mid-plane board forward (see letter "B") and insert the mid-plane into the
backplane connector as shown.
