Enter FCIP parameters in the FCIP Options dialog box
Figure 52 FCIP Routes Add Wizard FCIP Options dialog box
.
The following parameters are configured:
• FCIP SW Compression Provides a dialog box for enabling and disabling FCIP compression.
The default is Disabled.
• Bandwidth (Mbit/sec) Provides a dialog box that enables the user to define the maximum
bandwidth (in Mb/s) used by the GigE port during transmits. The range of values supported
is 1 to 1,000 Mb/s. This setting enables the user to limit the bandwidth used by the FCIP
route so as to not consume all the available link bandwidth.
For example, if the slowest link in the WAN being used is a DS-3 link, then the maximum
available bandwidth is 45 Mb/s. To limit the FCIP route to 33% of the overall link bandwidth,
set the bandwidth to 15 Mb/s.
HP StorageWorks Continuous Access EVA/XP replication solution requires dedicated band-
width for the intersite link. If other applications share the intersite link, some method of QoS
must be used to ensure that the replication application has uncontested access to the allocated
bandwidth.
