value of 10 (10 seconds) is usually enough to let all the system com-
ponent that still need to access the virtual disks. On the other hand, if
the shutdown time seems too long, you can reduce this parameter
value.
Please refer to the appendix "NVD.SYS Reference" on page 341 for
more details about this parameter.
When remote booting a Windows 2000 OS that has not had the latest
service pack applied, the clients may not be able to shutdown or
reboot, or may take up to half an hour to complete the reboot pro-
cess. To solve this problem, apply the latest Windows 2000 service
pack to the client OS. Windows service packs can be applied on vir-
tual volumes when mounted in Admin mode (if there is enough free
disk space on the client computer).
Clients using Intel i810 chipset under Windows 2000 may have
problems at startup such as system freezing, blue screens or unex-
pected reboots.
Users are advised to update the Intel Display Driver to the latest ver-
sion available on the Intel Support Web Site and to apply the latest
Intel Inf Update utility to the HD-Based Windows installation before
building the HD image with Neoware Image Manager ClientBuilder.
This usually resolves the startup problems with Neoware Image
Manager Clients based on i810 chipset and running Windows 2000.
If you get an
Inaccessible Boot Device (STOP:0x0000007B)
blue screen when starting a Neoware Image Manager client, you
should investigate client network drivers issues.
This problem is usually related to Neoware Image Manager client
drivers failing to initialize the Virtual HD properly in the Windows
Plug'n'Play stack.
