You can also specify different write modes for specific clients using
the same volume, so the default write mode is ignored. The follow-
ing commands would be used to indicate which clients are to use
which mode:
<vol_name>.admin_mode_users=<comma separated clients>
<vol_name>.normal_mode_users=<comma separated clients>
#(CVolWrite/Normal)
<vol_name>.volatile_mode_users=<comma separated clients>
#(CVolWrite/Volatile)
If the writing mode is set to CVol write and the submode is normal,
the following command will cause the Image Manager server to
automatically check if the hard disk image has changed. If it has,
then the CVol files will be emptied:
<volume_name>.check_cvol=true
(The check is made on the file dates.)
Normal CVolwrite Mode
When CVolwrite Normal mode is specified, write operations are
kept in the CVol files when the corresponding client is booting.
Volatile CVolwrite Mode
If CVolwrite Volatile mode is specified, when a client is booting, the
corresponding CVol file is emptied. Write operations are then not
kept when a client is rebooted and the system configuration is
always in the same state after a reboot. All changes to the volume,
such as creating new files or folders, installing applications, modify-
ing the system settings, do not survive a reboot.
Persistent CVolwrite Mode
If CVolwrite Persistent mode is specified, when a client is booting,
the corresponding CVol file is replaced by reference CVol files that
