Native DHCP Options
The DHCP option 1 provides the client's subnet mask. This informa-
tion must be set in the active network card's TCP/IP configuration,
under the "SubnetMask" value. Also, if MS DHCP client is enabled
by BDRUPD, this option must also be set as "DhcpSubnetMask".
The following illustrates how BDRUPD is configured to process this
correctly:
HKLM/System/CurrentControlSet/Services
BDRUPD
(key)
DHCPTags (key)
1 (key)
Type (REG_DWORD) : 0
RegType (REG_MULTI_SZ) : ""
Target (REG_MULTI_SZ) : "%ActiveNIC% SubnetMask"
1 (subkey)
Type (REG_DWORD) : 0
RegType (REG_SZ) : ""
Target (REG_MULTI_SZ) : "%ActiveNIC% DhcpSubnetMask"
If (REG_SZ) : "\Registry\Machine\System\CurrentCon-
trolSet\Services\BDRUPD\SetDHCP"
This way, the option value is written to the proper value (Subnet-
Mask) and optionally to the second one (DhcpSubnetMask) only if
MS DHCP client is activated by BDRUPD (through the BDRUPD
flag "SetDHCP").
