v Follow the suggested actions in the order in which they are listed in the Action column until the problem is
solved.
v See Chapter 7, "Parts listing for IBM Flex System p24L Compute Node," on page 79 to determine which
components are CRUs and which components are FRUs.
v If an action step is preceded by Trained service technician only, that step must be performed only by a trained
service technician.

Action
Replace the system-board and chassis assembly, as described in
"Replacing the system-board and chassis assembly" on page 67.
1. Replace the management card, as described in "Removing the
management card" on page 57 and "Installing the management card"
on page 59.
2. After replacing the card and installing the compute node in the chassis
unit and before rebooting the compute node or performing other
operations, ensure that the initialization of the VPD on the
management card occurs by waiting for the management module to
discover the compute node. Otherwise, the system might fail to
perform an initial program load (IPL).
This procedure helps you determine the source of the power loss
condition that brought you here. If the system or expansion unit that
exhibited the power loss starts normally, or stays powered on after an ac
power failure, replacement of parts might not be needed. This is likely
caused by one of three scenarios:
1. If the compute node was disconnected with the power still on, this
SRC is generated. If the check log indicator remains on, it can be
turned off through the management console (if available).
2. Power loss to the chassis. This can be caused by a brown-out or the
failure of PDUs. The SRC is generated by the compute node, but the
problem is not local to the compute node. No compute node hardware
requires replacement.
3. Power lost to the compute node slot only, but power remains on in the
other compute nodes in the chassis. In this case a legitimate hardware
fail is possible. Other power-related (1100xxxx) SRC's for the compute
node are expected to further diagnose and isolate the problem.
Replace the system-board and chassis assembly, as described in
"Replacing the system-board and chassis assembly" on page 67.
1. Reseat the PCIe expansion card.
2. If the problem persists, replace the expansion card.
3. If the problem persists, go to "Checkout procedure" on page 414.
4. If the problem persists, replace the system-board and chassis assembly,
as described in "Replacing the system-board and chassis assembly" on
page 67.
