Depending on your operating system and the utilities installed, error messages might also be stored in an
operating system log. For more information, see the documentation that comes with the operating
system.
Use ASMI to display the error and event logs. See Displaying error and event logs in the IBM Power
Systems Hardware Information Center.
SRC formats
SRCs are strings of either six or eight alphanumeric characters. The first two characters designate the
reference code type.
The first characters indicate the type of error:
v 1xxxyyyy - System power control network (SPCN) error
v A1xxyyyy - Attention required (service processor)
v A2xxyyyy - Attention required (logical partition)
v A7xxyyyy - Attention required (Licensed Internal Code)
v AAxxyyyy - Attention required (Partition firmware)
v B1xxyyyy - Service processor error, such as a boot problem
v B2xxyyyy - Logical partition error
v B7xxyyyy - Licensed Internal Code error
v BAxxyyyy - Partition firmware error
v Cxxxyyyy - Checkpoint (must hang to indicate an error)
v Dxxxyyyy - Dump checkpoint (must hang to indicate an error)
To find a description of an SRC that is not listed in this IBM Flex System p24L Compute Node
documentation, refer to the POWER7 Reference Code Lookup page at http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/
infocenter/systems/scope/hw/index.jsp?topic=/ipha8/codefinder.htm.
1xxxyyyy SRCs:
The 1xxxyyyy system reference codes are system power control network (SPCN) reference codes.
Find the system reference code in the list below. Follow the suggested actions in the order in which they
are listed until the problem is solved. If an action solves the problem, you can stop performing the
remaining actions. See Chapter 7, "Parts listing for IBM Flex System p24L Compute Node," on page 79 to
determine which components are CRUs and which components are FRUs.
