TAKE CARE NOT TO TILT THE VEHI-
CLE EXCESSIVELY TO AVOID DAN-
GEROUS SPILLS OF BATTERY FLUID.
DO NOT INVERT THE CONNECTIONS
OF THE BATTERY LEADS.

CONNECT AND DISCONNECT THE
BATTERY WITH
SWITCH IN THE 'KEY OFF' POSITION.
FIRST CONNECT THE POSITIVE TER-
MINAL (+) AND THEN THE NEGATIVE
ONE (-).
DISCONNECT IN THE REVERSE OR-
DER.
Lift up the fuel tank.
Check that the terminals and the
cable leads are:
- in good condition (not corroded or cov-
ered by deposits);
- covered with neutral grease or petrole-
um jelly.
If needed:
Make sure that the ignition
switch is in "key off" position.
Disconnect first the negative ca-
ble (-) and then the positive (+).

FAIRE ATTENTION À NE PAS TROP
INCLINER LE VÉHICULE, AFIN DE
PRÉVENIR DES FUITES DANGEREU-
SES DU LIQUIDE DE LA BATTERIE.
NE JAMAIS INVERSER LE BRANCHE-
MENT DES CÂBLES DE LA BATTERIE.
THE IGNITION BRANCHER ET DÉBRANCHER LA
BATTERIE LORSQUE L'INTERRUP-
TEUR D'ALLUMAGE EST SUR « KEY
OFF ».
BRANCHER D'ABORD LE CÂBLE PO-
SITIF (+) PUIS LE CÂBLE NÉGATIF (-).
DÉBRANCHER EN SUIVANT L'ORDRE
INVERSE.
Soulever le réservoir de carbu-
rant.
Contrôler que les terminaux des
câbles et les bornes de la batte-
rie soient :
- en bon état (et non rouillés ou couverts
de dépôts) ;
- couverts de graisse neutre ou de vase-
line.
Si nécessaire :
S'assurer que l'interrupteur d'al-
lumage est sur 'key off'.
