9.2.5 Switching off further seed wheels
The width of the track is determined by the row spacing and the number of seed
wheels to be switched off. If wider tracks than can be achieved with 2 rows are
required, further switchable seed wheels (3) can be installed as follows.

Dismantle the sowing shaft as described
in "Changing seed wheels" and replace
the seed wheels (2) where further rows
are to be switched of with switchable
seed wheels (3) with a gearwheel (4).
Then mount the sowing shaft (1) again
as described in "Changing seed wheels".
Twist the two opposing grub screws (8)
on the switchable seed wheels (3) with
gearwheel (4) out about 1 to 2 mm using
a hexagon socket wrench (9). You can
now turn the seed wheels freely by hand
(freewheeling position).
Mount the additional gearwheels (5) on
the countershaft (6), position them as
required in relation to the gearwheels (4)
of the seed wheels (3), and secure using
hose clamps (7). In the case of a two-
part gearwheel (5), the gearwheel (5)
must be secured by means of tightening
the four clamping bolts on the counter-
shaft (6).
