2. Ensure that the front of the battery cabinet is not obstructed.
3. Ensure that the ventilation slots in the battery cabinet are unobstructed.
4. Check the battery cabinet enclosure for any damage such as scratches, dents, or corrosion damage.
5. If the battery cabinet enclosure exhibits damage, contact Service.
6. Spray all moving parts of the latch with a suitable, water-free lubricant.
7. Spray all moving parts of the door hinges with a suitable, water-free lubricant.
8. Ensure that the battery cabinet ground is firmly tightened (hexagon socket, AF13, torque: 8 Nm).
9. Document all inspection results.

Cleaning and Maintaining the Battery Management System

Overwriting of custom settings during firmware update
After the update, the parameter defaults must be loaded. This overwrites custom settings.
• Contact Service for the firmware update. Advise Service of the custom settings.
Procedure:
1. Disconnect the battery and inverter from voltage sources (see Section 11, page 119).
2. Start the BatMon software and connect it to the battery management system.
3. Update the firmware. Contact Service for this.
4. Restart the battery management system. To do this, press the external switch on the battery cabinet door and the
SWITCH control element on the battery management system.
5. Check for any events reported by the battery management system during the restart.
6. If the battery management system reports an event during the restart, investigate the cause of the event message.
7. If error messages are shown on the display during the restart of the battery management system, find and
eliminate the error causes.
8. Ensure that the connectors of all DC cables and all communication cables on the battery management system are
tight.
9. Check that the display turns on after it is tapped and turns off again after 10 seconds.
10. Switch off the battery management system. To do this, press the SWITCH control element on the battery
management system and the external switch on the battery cabinet door.
11. Clean the battery management system with a dry cloth.
12. Document all inspection results.
