9.
Using an alcohol wipe, remove the existing thermal grease.
Allow solvent to dry before making contact with thermal grease.
10. Align the latches and pin 1 indicator, and then install the frame to the heatsink.
Verify that all of the latches are engaged with the heatsink.
11. Install the processor heatsink assembly.
The installation is complete.

Before performing this procedure, HPE recommends identifying the processor-heatsink module
components.
Intelligent System Tuning supports specific processors and configurations. For more information, see the
product QuickSpecs on the HPE website.
IMPORTANT: Existing HPE ProLiant and HPE Synergy Gen10 server products containing First
Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors may not be upgraded to Second Generation Intel Xeon
Scalable Processors at this time. For more information, see the product QuickSpecs on the Hewlett
Packard Enterprise website (http://www.hpe.com/info/qs).
Prerequisites
Before you perform this procedure, make sure that you have the following items available:
The components included with the hardware option kit
T-30 Torx screwdriver
