Adjustments

his chapter contains procedures to adjust the analyzer. Before performing adjustments, turn
on the analyzer and allow it to warm up for one hour.
You need an external controller for running three of the adjustments. he remaining
adjustments are accessed through the analyzer's service menus.
Refer to \Post-Repair Procedures" in the \Assembly Replacement" chapter to determine which
adjustment procedures you need to do when a particular part has been replaced.
You should perform the adjustment procedures in the order given here:

1. Fractional-N VCO Adjustment

2. Fractional-N Spur Adjustment (Requires controller)
3. Frequency Accuracy Adjustment
4. Serial Number, Adjustment #100 (Generally not required. Requires controller or IBASIC
Option 1C2)
5. LO Power Correction, Adjustment #101
6. Switched Gain Correction, Adjustment #102
7. External Detector Correction, Adjustment #103
8. Aux Input Correction, Adjustment #111
9. Source Power (ALC) Correction, Adjustment #104
10. B Amplitude Correction, Adjustment #105
11. ransmission Correction, Adjustment #106
12. B* Amplitude Correction, Adjustment #110
13. AM Delay Correction, Adjustment #112
14. Re ection Correction, Adjustment #107
15. R* Amplitude Correction, Adjustment #108
16. R* Frequency Response Correction, Adjustment #109
Items 1 through 3 above are adjustments where a physical part is changed (e.g. a
potentiometer is adjusted); no correction constants are generated from these adjustments.
Item 4 above (adjustment #100) does not generate a correction constant, although the data is
entered into permanent memory on the A2 bootROM.
