Firmware and correction constants reside in segmented
ash EPROMs.
Because the EPROMs are segmented, it is possible to upgrade either rmware
or correction constants independently. his is di erent from the previous
HP 8711A and HP 871xB analyzers which required the simultaneous updating
of both correction constants and rmware. he gure below illustrates the
